Dashboards & Reporting
The numbers you wish you could see, on one screen.
Most businesses already have the data. It’s in QuickBooks, a CRM, a job tracker and a few spreadsheets, and getting an answer means an hour of exporting and pasting, so nobody looks until something goes wrong. I connect the sources, agree the numbers that matter, and build a dashboard that stays current on its own.
Sound familiar?
- The monthly report takes someone a day of copying and pasting, and it’s out of date by the time it’s read.
- Two people answer “how are we doing?” with different numbers.
- You can’t see open quotes, jobs in progress and cash coming in without opening three tools.
- You export to Excel every week to build the same chart.
- Your tools have reports built in, but none of them show what you actually need.
- You’re growing, and gut feel isn’t enough anymore.
What you get
- A Workflow Checkup with a reporting focus: the numbers you need, where each one lives today, and what’s manual
- A short list of the metrics worth tracking, with an agreed definition for each, so everyone reads the same number
- Connections to the tools you already use: accounting, CRM, job or project tracking, spreadsheets
- A dashboard built for how you’ll use it: a morning glance, a weekly review, or a screen in the office
- Scheduled summaries by email where that’s more useful than a screen
- Checks on the data, so a broken connection shows up as a warning, not as a wrong number
- Documentation and a hand-off walkthrough. You own the dashboard and the connections.
// how it works
How it works
- 01
Listen
A free call about the questions you want answered and where the data lives.
- 02
Checkup
The Workflow Checkup, reporting focus: a written report on the metrics, the sources and the build.
- 03
Build
Connect the sources, define the numbers, build the screens, and check them against what you know to be true.
- 04
Hand off
A walkthrough for your team, documentation, and a check-in once it has run for a month.
A dashboard is only worth having if people trust it. I spend the time on getting the numbers right before making them pretty.
Questions
What tools do you work with?
Whatever holds your numbers: QuickBooks and other accounting tools, CRMs, job and project trackers, Microsoft 365, Google Sheets and plain exports. I build in tools such as Power BI or Looker Studio when they fit, or a small custom web dashboard when they don’t.
How much does a dashboard cost?
It depends on how many sources it draws from and how clean they are. A single dashboard on one tidy source is a modest fixed-price project. Several sources, messy data or custom views cost more, and I quote it after the checkup so there are no surprises.
Does my data leave my systems?
Only as far as the dashboard tool you choose, and I’ll explain exactly what goes where before anything is connected. Read-only access wherever possible, and you hold the credentials.
Can it replace the reports my tools already have?
Often the built-in reports are fine for one tool. The gap is across tools: sales in one, costs in another, jobs in a third. That’s what a dashboard is for. If a built-in report already answers the question, I’ll say so.
Do you work with larger businesses?
Yes, and I’m happy to work alongside your IT staff. Larger companies usually have more sources and more people who need the same number, which is where agreed definitions matter most.
